Front Brake Caliper: Installation

- Apply a light, thin coat of high temperature silicone brake lubricant to caliper guide pins. Install guide pins to brake caliper bracket. Install brake caliper to brake caliper bracket.
- Install brake caliper guide pin bolts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove caps or plugs from brake caliper opening and brake hose.
- Install NEW copper brake hose gaskets to brake hose to caliper bolt and brake hose. Install brake hose, brake hose to brake, and caliper bolt to brake caliper. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Bleed brake system. Remove wheel lug nuts retaining brake rotor to wheel hub. Install front wheels. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification.
- Lower vehicle. With engine OFF, gradually apply brake pedal to about 2/3 of its travel distance. Slowly release brake pedal. Wait 15 seconds, then gradually apply brake pedal about 2/3 of its travel distance until a firm brake pedal apply is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
NOTE:
Do not reuse copper brake hose gaskets.
