Removal & Installation (Passenger-side)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove instrument panel trim pad. See INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PAD . Remove screws from radio. Remove radio from instrument panel and disconnect radio antenna, electrical connector and ground cable from radio. Remove passenger air outlet duct screw. Remove passenger air outlet duct.
  3. Remove bolts securing passenger-side air bag module to cross car beam. See Fig 1. Unsnap air bag retainers. Remove passenger-side air bag module.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten passenger-side air bag module bolts and air duct screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
