Removal & Installation

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See ZONE 2 under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove front seat carpet retainer. Remove driver-side lower B-pillar trim panel. Remove SIS mounting bolts. Remove SIS from B-pillar. See Fig 1. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from SIS electrical connector. Disconnect SIS electrical connector. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten SIS mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See ZONE 2 under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
