Oil Level Indicator & Tube: Removal

  1. Remove the interior engine cover (if equipped). Remove the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct. Remove the surge tank mounting bolt. Move the surge tank out of the way. The hoses can remain attached to the surge tank.
  2. Remove the oil level indicator from the tube. Remove the nut retaining the oil level indicator to the thermostat crossover. Separate the upper section of the oil level indicator tube from the lower section.
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the engine oil level indicator tube to the left valve rocker arm cover. Remove the left exhaust manifold. See EXHAUST MANIFOLD  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the lower section of the oil level indicator tube. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
