WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 GMC Savana, 2001 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, 2001 Chevrolet Cutaway, and 2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: This procedure allows relearning of Passlock™ module or PCM learned data code after replacement of Passlock™ module, Passlock™ sensor or PCM. DTC B3031 will set when entering programming mode.
  1. Clear all DTCs. Turn ignition off. Replace component(s) as necessary.
  2. With transmission in Park, momentarily turn ignition switch to START position (engine will not start). Leave ignition switch in RUN position (engine off). If Passlock™ sensor was replaced, SECURITY indicator light will flash for 10 minutes. If Passlock™ module was replaced, SECURITY indicator light will flash for a few seconds, and then remain on for 10 minutes. If PCM was replaced with a new PCM, vehicle may start and procedure may not be needed. If replacement PCM was used even momentarily, SECURITY indicator light will flash for a few seconds, and then remain on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, when light turns off, turn ignition switch to OFF position for 5 seconds.
  3. Repeat step  2 twice more. Ignition switch must be turned to OFF position. Auto learn procedure will be completed during next start attempt. Clear all DTCs.
