WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 GMC Savana, 2001 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, 2001 Chevrolet Cutaway, and 2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The following problems may cause this DTC to set:
- Poor connections.
- Crankshaft reluctor wheel damage or improper installation.
- Sensor coming in contact with reluctor wheel.
- Engine running out of fuel.
Excess crankshaft end play will cause CKP sensor reluctor wheel to move out of alignment with CKP sensor. This could result in a no start, a start and stall or erratic performance.
If an intermittent is suspected, see INTERMITTENT TROUBLE CODE DETERMINATION under ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
