DTC P0230: Fuel Pump Control Relay Circuit: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 GMC Savana, 2001 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, 2001 Chevrolet Cutaway, and 2001 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides ignition voltage to coil side of fuel pump relay. When ignition switch is first turned on, PCM energizes fuel pump relay, which applies power to fuel pump. PCM enables fuel pump relay as long as engine is cranking or running, and crankshaft reference pulses are received. If no crankshaft reference pulses are received, PCM de-energizes fuel pump relay after 2 seconds. PCM monitors voltage on fuel pump relay control circuit. DTC P0230 sets if PCM detects an incorrect voltage on fuel pump relay control circuit.
