Diagnostic Aids

Inspect for the following conditions:
- A misrouted harness. Inspect MAF sensor harness to ensure it is not routed too close to secondary ignition wires, coils, solenoids, relays or motors.
- A low minimum air rate may cause this DTC to set during deceleration. Inspect for a plugged or collapsed intake air duct or dirty air filter element, objects blocking MAF sensor air inlet screen and throttle bore and throttle plate coking.
- A Wide Open Throttle (WOT) acceleration from a stop should cause MASS AIRFLOW display on a scan tool to increase from about 4-7 grams/second at idle to about 130 grams/second or more at time of 1-2 shift. If not, inspect for a restriction.
- Any unmetered air entering engine may cause this DTC to set. Inspect for vacuum leaks in the following components:
- Intake manifold.
- Throttle body.
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve flange and pipe.
- MAF sensor seal.
- Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor seal.
- Evaporative emission canister purge valve seal.
- EVAP canister purge valve seal.
- Fuel meter body seal.
- Brake booster system.
- Air induction system.
- Crankcase ventilation system.
