Additional Inspections

  1. Check the transmission Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) operation. The scan tool should indicate a RPM drop, when the system commands the TCC ON. Go to appropriate DIAGNOSIS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
  2. Check the exhaust system for a possible restriction. Check for damaged or collapsed pipes, mufflers for heat distress or possible internal failure and catalytic converters for a plugged condition.
