Engine Mechanical

  1. Check engine mechanical for the following conditions:
    • Compression. See COMPRESSION under MECHANICAL INSPECTION under PRELIMINARY INSPECTION & ADJUSTMENTS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 3.4L ALERO, GRAND AM, IMPALA & MONTE CARLO article.
    • Sticking or leaking valves.
    • Worn camshaft lobes.
    • Valve timing.
    • Worn rocker arms.
    • Broken valve springs.
    • Excessive oil in combustion chamber or leaking valve seals.
