Fuel Strainer: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove the fuel sender assembly. See FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY .
  2. Support the reservoir with one hand and grasp the strainer with the other hand. See Figure. Use a screwdriver to pry the strainer ferrule off the reservoir. Discard the strainer.
