EGR Valve: Removal

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector. See Figure. Remove the oil indicator from the filler tube.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. See AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Remove the retaining nut from the EGR valve at the top of the filler tube. Remove the lower retaining bolt at the base of the filler tube. Remove the fluid filler tube. Remove the fluid filler tube seal.
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the pipe assembly from the EGR valve and carefully pull the pipe assembly back. Remove the EGR valve retaining bolts. Remove the EGR valve assembly. Remove the gasket. Clean the EGR valve mating surface.
