EGR Valve: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: DO NOT place the fluid filler tube seal on the fluid filler tube when installing the tube or damage to the seal will result.
  1. Install the EGR valve with a NEW gasket to the intake manifold. Install the bolts through the EGR valve. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Connect the pipe assembly to the EGR valve. Install the bolt. Tighten the bolt to specification. Install the EGR valve electrical connector. Install the fluid filler tube seal in the transaxle. Position the fluid filler tube into the transaxle.
  3. Install the fluid filler tube bracket bolt through the fluid filler tube bracket. Tighten the bolt to specification. Install the retaining nut to the EGR valve at the top of the filler tube. Install the air cleaner assembly. Inspect transmission for proper fluid level. Inspect for fluid leaks.
