Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Partially drain the coolant. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. See AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT .
  2. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector. See Figure. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Remove the accelerator controls cable bracket. See ACCELERATOR CONTROLS CABLE BRACKET  under MISCELLANEOUS.
  3. Disconnect the throttle body coolant by-pass hoses. Disconnect the heater pipe nut at the throttle body. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold. Remove the throttle body assembly. Remove the old gasket.
