Air Cleaner Assembly: Removal

  1. Remove the fastener from the coolant tank. Remove the coolant tank and set aside. Remove the 3 bolts from the support brace and remove the brace.
  2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector. Loosen the 2 clamps on the air cleaner intake duct. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct and MAF sensor as an assembly.
  3. Unsnap the 2 latches and remove the air cleaner housing cover. See Figure. Remove the air filter element. Unsnap the latch on the upper cover and remove the cover. See Figure.
  4. Carefully remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) leaving the 2 harnesses connected and set aside. Remove the 2 bolts from the air cleaner assembly and remove the housing.
