WARNING:
Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class "B") fire extinguisher nearby. DO NOT drain the fuel into an open container. Never store the fuel in an open container due to the possibility of a fire or an explosion.
WARNING:
Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. The towel will absorb any fuel leakage that occurs during the connection of the fuel pressure gauge.
NOTE:
Plastic retainers must be replaced when fuel lines are disassembled. Install NEW retainer into female cavity. Firmly press female connection onto male end until click is heard, pull back to confirm engagement.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Connect the Fuel Pressure Gauge (J-34730-1A) to the fuel pressure connection, located on the fuel rail. Install the bleed hose into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing. Disconnect the fuel pressure gauge from the fuel pressure connection.
