Installation (Left)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saturn Vue and 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install NEW manifold gasket on the cylinder head. Install the exhaust manifold. Install the exhaust manifold nuts. Tighten the exhaust manifold-to-cylinder head nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the front down pipe assembly. See Figure. Tighten front pipe-to-rear pipe nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Tighten the front pipe-to-manifold nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the O2 sensor and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Pull the stabilizer bar into position and install mounting nuts and bolts. Tighten stabilizer bar-to-frame bolts and link nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install A/C compressor-to-bracket. Tighten the A/C compressor-to-bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the electrical connector at the A/C compressor and pressure transducer.
  3. Install the accessory drive belt in original position around the pulleys. Install the splash shield. Lower the vehicle. Install the oil level indicator and tube. Tighten the coolant extension pipe/engine lift bracket bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    CAUTION: Whenever the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is removed, coat the threads with nickel-based Anti-Seize Compound (SA P/N 21485279) or equivalent. NEVER use silicon products, silicon products will cause damage to HO2S.
  4. Install the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) into the exhaust manifold. Tighten the HO2S to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the HO2S electrical harness connector at the side of engine. Assure the connector is fully retained to the bracket.
