Engine Oil Cooler: Removal

- Lift and support the intake manifold. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the coolant bridge. Refer to Removal .
- Remove the intake manifold spacer assembly.
- Remove the oil feed line from the engine oil cooler.
- Remove the return line from the engine oil cooler.
- Ensure all 4 seals are accounted for.CAUTION: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the oil filter housing.
- Remove the crank sensor bolt.
- Remove the crank sensor.
- Remove the engine oil cooler line clamp.
- Remove the oil feed line from the engine block.
- Remove the return line from the engine block.
- Remove the oil feed line.
- Remove the return line.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts.
- Remove the engine oil cooler cover bolts.
- Remove the engine oil cooler.IMPORTANT: Before cleaning the mating surface, plug the cylinder ports with clean rags to keep debris from entering the intake ports.
- Clean all sealing surfaces.
