Crankshaft Position Sensor "B" (7X): Installation

  1. Replace the "O" ring, if it is damaged. Lubricate the "O" ring with clean engine oil. Install the sensor to the block. Install the CKP sensor attaching bolt. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install the CKP sensor electrical connector. On front-wheel-drive vehicles, install the right tire and wheel. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. On all-wheel-drive vehicles, install the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. Tighten catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold nuts to specification. On all models, lower the vehicle.
  3. Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR  under PROGRAMMING.
