Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the 2 mounting nuts from the injector sight shield (top engine cover). See Figure . Lift the sight shield from the front and pull forward to disengage the rear tab from the bracket. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid harness connector. See Figure . Disconnect the purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  2. Remove the PCV hose from the right valve cover and reposition the hose, if necessary. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid retaining bolt. Partially open the throttle and remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid from the intake manifold.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use a NEW "O" ring when installing solenoid. Tighten EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
