Removal (RWD)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, and 2002 GMC Sonoma. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Install the transmission jack to the transmission and support the transmission.
- Disconnect the transmission wiring harness from the transmission support, if necessary.
- On 2.2L models, remove the transmission mount-to-transmission support stud nut. See Fig 1.
- On 4.3L pickups and utilities, remove the transmission mount-to-transmission support stud nut. See Fig 2.
- On 2.2L models, remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the transmission support mounting bolts, if necessary. See Fig 3.
- On 4.3L models, remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the transmission support mounting bolts, if necessary. See Fig 4.
- On 2.2L models, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Fig 5.
- On 4.3L models, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Fig 6.
- On utilities, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcements. See Fig 7.
- On all models, remove the transmission support.
