Removal & Installation (Auxiliary)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATING & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove auxiliary evaporator. See EVAPORATOR CORES . Gently remove sealer packed around expansion valve. Note location and orientation of capillary tube in evaporator core for installation reference. Remove retaining clip and capillary tube from evaporator core.
  2. Disconnect evaporator line connections from expansion valve. Remove expansion valve from evaporator core. See Fig 1.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW O-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant. Ensure capillary tube is properly installed in its original location. Evacuate and recharge A/C system.
