Throttle Cable Adjustment

- Check accelerator pedal free play with throttle valve closed. Accelerator pedal free play clearance should be .08-.27" (2-7 mm). See Fig 1 . To adjust accelerator pedal free play, loosen accelerator cable lock nut at throttle body bracket. See Fig 2 . Turn accelerator cable adjusting nut until free play is within specification. Install and tighten accelerator cable lock nut to 17 ft. lbs. (23 N.m).
- Check clearance between throttle lever and throttle stop with accelerator pedal fully depressed. Accelerator cable end play clearance should be .02-.07" (0.5-2.0 mm) if equipped with manual transmission, or .03-.06" (0.8-1.5 mm) if equipped with automatic transmission. See Fig 3 . To adjust accelerator cable end play, adjust height of accelerator pedal stop. See Fig 1 .
