Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the floor console to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the floor console.
  3. Align the floor console to the retainers at the I/P.
  4. Push the floor console forward into the retainers in the I/P until fully seated. Position the rear of the floor console to the floor panel studs and the console bracket.
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  5. Install the floor console horizontal bolts near the I/P. Tighten the floor console horizontal bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

    Install the floor console power accessory port.

  6. Install the floor console nuts. Tighten the floor console nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  7. Install the floor console rear compartment bolts. Tighten the floor console rear compartment bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
  8. Install the floor console rear compartment mat.
  9. Install the floor console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front .
