Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the right front fascia extension. Refer to FASCIA EXTENSION REPLACEMENT -- FRONT .
  5. Remove the brace between the engine oil pan and the transaxle case.

  7. Remove the torque converter cover. Refer to TRANSAXLE (4T80-E) .
  8. Install the J 44214 (1). 
  9. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt.

  10. Support the engine assembly with a suitable jack.
  11. Remove the nut securing the right engine mount to the right engine mount bracket.
  12. Lower the engine assembly to obtain clearance for the J 41816  below the body rail.

  13. Place the remover pilot into the end of the crankshaft.
  14. Remove the crankshaft balancer using the J 41816.

  16. Clean and inspect the crankshaft balancer. Refer to CRANKSHAFT BALANCER CLEANING AND INSPECTION .
