Installation Procedure

  1. Position the crankshaft balancer on the nose of the crankshaft.

  2. Press the crankshaft balancer in place using the J 41998-B

  3. Clean the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
  4. Apply engine oil to the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
    CAUTION: Refer toFASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
    1. 5.1. First Pass

      Tighten 

      Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).

    2. 5.2. Final Pass

      Tighten 

      Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 120 degrees using the J 36660-A.

  6. Raise the engine assembly into position.
    CAUTION: Refer toFASTENER NOTICE .
  7. Install the nut securing the right engine mount to the right engine mount bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the right engine mount nut to 80 N.m (59 ft lbs).

  9. Remove the engine support jack.
  10. Remove the J 44214. 
  11. Install the torque converter cover. Refer to TRANSAXLE (4T80-E) .
  12. Install the oil pan to transaxle brace.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pan to transaxle brace bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).

  14. Install the right front fascia extension. Refer to FASCIA EXTENSION REPLACEMENT -- FRONT .
  15. Install the right front wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  16. Lower the vehicle
  17. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
