Installation Procedure

- Position the crankshaft balancer on the nose of the crankshaft.
- Press the crankshaft balancer in place using the J 41998-B
- Clean the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.
- Apply engine oil to the crankshaft balancer bolt threads.CAUTION: Refer toFASTENER NOTICE .
- Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.
- 5.1. First Pass
Tighten
Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
- 5.2. Final Pass
Tighten
Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 120 degrees using the J 36660-A.
- 5.1. First Pass
- Raise the engine assembly into position.CAUTION: Refer toFASTENER NOTICE .
- Install the nut securing the right engine mount to the right engine mount bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the right engine mount nut to 80 N.m (59 ft lbs).
- Remove the engine support jack.
- Remove the J 44214.
- Install the torque converter cover. Refer to TRANSAXLE (4T80-E) .
- Install the oil pan to transaxle brace.
Tighten
Tighten the oil pan to transaxle brace bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
- Install the right front fascia extension. Refer to FASCIA EXTENSION REPLACEMENT -- FRONT .
- Install the right front wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
