Additional Inspections

Visually and physically check vacuum hoses for splits, kinks, and proper connections and routing as shown on the Vehicle Emission Control Information label.
Check the transmission Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) operation. A TCC applying too soon can cause the engine to spark knock. Go to appropriate DIAGNOSIS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
Test the A/C clutch for proper operation. Go to appropriate MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS in AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING article.
Check the exhaust system for possible restrictions. Go to RESTRICTED EXHAUST .
