Powertrain Mount Balance (Total Mount)

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Loosen the front mount through bolt. See Figure . DO NOT remove.
  3. Loosen the rear mount through bolt. See Figure . DO NOT remove.
  4. Position 2 floor jacks with wood blocks under the engine and transaxle to support the powertrain assembly.
  5. From the engine compartment, loosen, DO NOT remove the LH mount bolts. See Fig 2 .
  6. Loosen, DO NOT remove the RH mount bolts. See Fig 1 .
  7. Reposition the floor jacks to allow a 1/8" gap between the mount and mount bracket.
  8. Tighten the LH mount starting with the center bolt. See Fig 2 . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Tighten the RH mount starting with the center bolt. See Fig 1 . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Remove the floor jacks.
  11. Shake the powertrain vigorously from front to rear and allow the powertrain to settle.
  12. Tighten the rear mount through bolt. See Figure . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  13. Tighten the front mount through bolt. See Figure . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  14. Lower the vehicle.
