Possible Causes & Corrections

Check for the following:
- Search for bulletins.
- Test fuel system circuits for proper operation. Refer to Fuel Pump Electrical Circuit Diagnosis in FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 3.4L MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
- Test for low fuel pressure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEMS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 3.4L MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
- Test for faulty fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - 3.4L MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
- Inspect for fuel contamination.
- Inspect for fuel in the pressure regulator vacuum hose.
- Ensure each injector harness is connected to the correct injector/cylinder.
- Test for short between battery positive voltage and any of the ignition feed circuits.
