Automatic Throttle Valve (TV) Cable: 2.0L

  1. Inspect the accelerator cable for proper adjustment. See ACCELERATOR CABLE ADJUSTMENT . Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. The distance must be 0.031-0.059" (0.8-1.5 mm). See Fig 1.
  2. If the distance is not 0.031-0.059" (0.8-1.5 mm), loosen the Throttle Control (TV) cable locknut (3). Adjust the cable using the locknuts until the measurement is achieved. Tighten the TV cable locknut (3). Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. Ensure that the distance did not change during the tightening of the locknut.
