Test W: Turn Signal Lights And/Or Indicators Always On Or Flashing

  1. Review turn signal indicator operation and perform preliminary inspection. See TURN SIGNAL  under INDICATORS in OPERATION and PRELIMINARY INSPECTION  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate turn signals in left and right positions. If turn signals do not operate properly, go to next step. If turn signals operate properly, check for intermittent or poor connections. Repair as necessary.
  3. Check for short to voltage in appropriate turn signal bulb supply voltage circuit (Light Blue wire, if left side. Dark Blue wire, if right side) between IPC and turn signal switch. If suspect circuit is okay, go to next step. If suspect circuit is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  6 .
  4. Check turn signal switch connector for intermittent or poor terminal contact. If terminal contact is okay, go to next step. If terminal contact is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step  6 .
  5. Replace turn signal switch (multifunction switch). After repair, go to step  6 .
  6. Operate system to verify fault no longer exists. If fault still exists, go to step  3 .
