Low coolant level indicator system consist of a lamp, Coolant Level Indicator Module (CLIM) and a level switch. Level switch is a normally closed switch that keeps the indicator off. If coolant level is low, level switch will open and turn on the low coolant indicator. Battery voltage is provided to engine coolant level indicator module through ignition 1 voltage circuit when ignition switch is in RUN or START position. CLIM has a separate ground than the level switch. The module is used to prevent indicator from turning on when coolant is sloshing in the reservoir. When the switch is opened, CLIM senses the open. CLIM turns on the indicator if the ground is unavailable after 15 seconds.
