DTC C1245: Tire Inflation Monitor Circuit Low: Testing

  1. Perform tire pressure monitoring diagnostic system check. See TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If tire pressure monitoring diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, monitor DTC INFORMATION for DTC C1245 in DRP/ABS/TCS/TIM/VSES (if equipped) DTCs. If scan tool indicates DTC C1245 is current, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate DTC C1245 as current, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Since most occurrences of DTC C1245 are caused by low tire pressure, review TPM system with customer to verify conditions under which DTC C1245 set. If tire inflation caused DTC C1245 to set, go to step  5 . If tire inflation did not cause DTC C1245 to set, go to next step.
  4. Perform TIM reset. See RESETTING TIRE INFLATION MONITOR  under PROGRAMMING. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within CODE ENABLE CRITERIA  conditions. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC C1245 resets, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If DTC C1245 does not reset, system is okay.
  5. Check tire pressures and adjust if needed. If tire pressures were adjusted, perform TIM reset. See RESETTING TIRE INFLATION MONITOR  under PROGRAMMING. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within CODE ENABLE CRITERIA  conditions. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC C1245 resets, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If DTC C1245 does not reset, system is okay.
