Removal & Installation (2.0L)

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
  2. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION for A/T or CLUTCH ASSEMBLY for M/T.
  3. Remove the flywheel or the flex plate from the crankshaft.
  4. Remove the 2 bolts (3) and the sensor wire harness clips or shield.
  5. Remove the bolt (4) securing the CKP sensor to the engine block (5).
  6. Remove the CKP sensor (1) and the wire harness (2) from the vehicle.
  7. Inspect the CKP sensor signal rotor for damaged or missing teeth through the CKP sensor opening.
  8. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate CKP sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
