Removal & Installation (2.0L & 2.5L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Release cooling system pressure and drain engine coolant so level is below throttle body. Remove intake air inlet duct and breather hose from throttle body. On 2.5L, remove front suspension support brace. Remove engine surge tank cover and tank. Remove Mass Airflow (MAF) meter. On all models, disconnect IAC valve and Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connectors from throttle body.
- Disconnect upper and lower coolant lines from throttle body. Disconnect accelerator cable and A/T throttle cable from throttle lever and cable bracket. Remove throttle body retaining bolts and nuts. Remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold. Remove flange gasket and discard.
- Clean gasket surface on intake manifold and throttle body. Install NEW flange gasket. Install throttle body assembly. Install throttle body bolts and nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEM. After installing accelerator cable, ensure cable has correct free play. See appropriate ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
