Removal & Installation (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L & 8.1L)

  1. On 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L, drain cooling system and disconnect IAC valve connector. On all models, disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air intake duct. Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cables. Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body. Disconnect TP sensor harness connectors from throttle body.
  2. On 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L, disconnect coolant hose from throttle body. Disconnect coolant hose from vapor vent pipe. On all models, remove throttle body retaining nuts. Remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold. Remove flange gasket and discard.
  3. Clean gasket surface on intake manifold and throttle body. Install NEW flange gasket. Install throttle body assembly. Install throttle body nuts and tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING  under COOLING SYSTEM.
