Removal & Installation (2.0L & 2.5L)

  1. Fuel pump is located in fuel tank and is integral with fuel sending unit assembly. Fuel pump must be replaced with fuel sending unit as an assembly. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise vehicle and remove fuel tank.
  2. Disconnect fuel feed and return lines from fuel sending unit assembly. Disconnect fuel sending unit harness connector. Remove 6 fuel sending unit assembly retaining bolts. Remove fuel sending unit assembly and gasket from fuel tank.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW "O" ring and gasket. Tighten fuel sending unit assembly retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
