Removal & Installation (4.3L, 5.0L & 5.7L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect harness connectors from fuel meter body. Disconnect fuel feed and return lines. Remove upper intake manifold assembly. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY (CSI) .
- Label injector lines for installation reference. Squeeze injector lock tabs and lift injectors from lower intake manifold. Remove fuel meter body from bracket with injector lines and injectors attached by releasing lock tabs on bracket. Disassemble as necessary.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEM. Ensure all injectors are properly locked into place. Install NEW "O" ring onto fuel feed and return lines. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
