Removal (6.6L)

  1. Disconnect both negative battery cables. Move hood to service position by moving bolts to service position locations. Raise vehicle and remove exhaust pipe outlet clamp from exhaust pipe. If vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission, remove bolts securing dipstick tube to bellhousing. Remove left exhaust heat shield and set aside. Remove left and right exhaust pipe-to-manifold bolts and discard gaskets.
  2. Remove upper intake manifold sight shield. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner outlet duct from air cleaner and turbocharger. Remove charged air cooler inlet duct to turbocharger. Remove electrical connectors at A/C compressor. Remove A/C compressor and set aside without disconnecting lines. Disconnect coolant hoses from turbocharger and by-pass valve.
  3. Remove Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve from valve cover. Remove turbocharger heatshield. Remove exhaust outlet from turbocharger and set aside. Remove left and right exhaust pipes from turbocharger. See Fig 1. Remove oil supply line and set aside. Remove oil drain pipe nuts at flywheel housing. Remove 3 turbocharger mounting bolts and remove turbocharger with drain hose attached from vehicle.
