Instrument Panel Cluster

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) is equipped with conventional analog gauges and indicator/warning lights. IPC is also equipped with a message center. See Fig 1 -Fig 3 . Vehicle may also be equipped with a Driver Information Center (DIC). See DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER  . Message center and/or DIC will display messages to alert driver if a system malfunction has occurred or of conditions that need attention.

Certain IPC features are tested when ignition switch is turned from OFF position to RUN position (key up) in order to verify features are working properly. The following occurs at key up: ABS indicator illuminates briefly, air bag indicator flashes 7 times, BRAKE indicator illuminates briefly, charge indicator illuminates briefly, seat belt indicator illuminates for 70 seconds or until driver seat belt is latched, SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator/Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminates briefly and all odometer segments illuminate briefly.
