Low Fuel

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives fuel level information from fuel sensor. Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from PCM indicating fuel level information. IPC uses fuel data received from PCM and a software program to determine proper fuel level to display. If fuel level is less than 9.5 percent or "E", low fuel indicator will illuminate and LOW FUEL message will illuminate in message center. IPC also sends a message to Body Control Module (BCM) to chime audible warning 4 times when this condition exists.
