Test G: Oil Pressure Indicator Inoperative

NOTE: On 2.0L, models wire color for oil pressure switch changes color at harness connector P100 from Yellow/Black wire to Black wire. Harness connector P100 is located on right side of instrument panel, on bulkhead. On 2.5L models, wire for oil pressure switch changes color at harness connector P200 from Yellow/Black wire to Gray wire. Harness connector P200 is located on left side of instrument panel, on bulkhead.
  1. Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Connect fused jumper wire (5-amp) between ground and oil pressure switch harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil pressure indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step. If oil pressure indicator light illuminates, replace oil pressure switch.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster for access to harness connector. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster Blue 10-pin harness connector C2. Using DVOM, check for continuity between instrument cluster Blue 10-pin harness connector terminal No. 3 and oil pressure switch harness connector. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity does not exist, repair open in oil pressure switch circuit. If continuity exists, check instrument cluster printed circuit for bad connections, cracks or other damage. Repair or replace instrument cluster printed circuit as necessary.
