Removal (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine sight shield. Remove engine sight shield bracket bolts and bracket. Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cables from cable bracket. Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cables from throttle body.
  2. Remove upper engine wiring harness retainer nut. Disconnect EVAP purge solenoid harness connector. Reposition engine wiring harness aside. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  3. Label injector lines for installation reference. Pull top portion of injector connector up being careful not to pull up past top of White portion. Push tab on lower side of injector connector to release connector. Disconnect fuel feed and return lines at fuel rail.
  4. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum line. Loosen crossover tube to right fuel rail retainer screw. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts. Remove fuel rail from intake manifold. Remove injectors from fuel rail. Remove injector "O" rings and discard.
