DTC C1254: Abnormal Shutdown: Diagnosis
- Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . Go to next step.
- Install scan tool. Turn ignition on. Use scan tool to observe ignition voltage in ABS DATA LIST. Voltage should be more than 10.5-volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 5 .
- With scan tool in DATA LIST mode, observe SWITCHED BATTERY VOLTAGE. Voltage should be more than 10.5-volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 6 .
- Check operation of charging system. See GENERATORS & REGULATORS - TRACKER article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS. If charging system is okay, go to step 7 . If charging system is not okay, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM connector and install pinout box and adapter cable to EBCM harness. Check for opens or high resistance in ignition circuit. If circuit is okay, go to step 7 . If circuit is not okay, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM connector and install pinout box and adapter cable to EBCM harness. Check for opens or high resistance in battery voltage input circuit. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 .
- Check for opens or high resistance in ground circuit. If circuit is okay, go to step 10 . If circuit is not okay, go to next step.
- Perform wiggle test of related harness and connectors. If harness and connectors are okay, go to next step. If harness and connectors are not okay, repair as necessary, then go to step 10 .
- Replace EBCM. See BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE & ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Drive vehicle over various road surfaces at speeds greater than 25 MPH for at least 30 seconds. If DTC does not reset, system is okay. If DTC resets, go to step 2 .
