Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)

Tools Required 

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

IMPORTANT:

Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil hang freely after removal.

1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column shift Export) .

2. Compress the cam orientation plate using J 23653-SIR .
3. Remove the bearing retainer from the steering shaft assembly.
4. Discard the bearing retainer.
5. Remove J 23653-SIR .

6. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly:
   1. The cam orientation plate (4).
   2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (3).
   3. The upper bearing spring (2).
   4. The thrust washer (1).
