Installation Procedure

  1. Install the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch to the steering column.
  2. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Install the screws that retain the multifunction switch to the steering column.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  4. Install the gray and black wiring harness connectors (1) to the steering column bulkhead connector.

  6. Install the steering column bulkhead connector to the vehicle wire harness.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the center screw to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  7. Install the wire straps that secure the steering column wiring harness.
  8. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  9. Tighten the steering column bracket nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the steering column bracket nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  10. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Luxury) , Knee Bolster Replacement (Non-Luxury) in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
