Linear Shift Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column shift Export)

  1. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) , Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift Snap On Shrouds) .

  3. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).
  4. The steering column lock cylinder set should be in the OFF-LOCK position.
  5. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the lock module assembly and push against the locking tab to remove.

  7. Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control connector from the park position switch assembly.
  8. Slide the park position switch assembly off of the linear shift assembly.

  10. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column.
  11. Use a small screwdriver to pry the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column jacket assembly.

  13. To break the linear shift assembly down proceed to step 12.
  14. Remove the 3 TORX® screws from the linear shift assembly.
  15. Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column support assembly.

  17. Remove the 2 hexagon flange head bolts (2).
  18. Remove the ball and actuator assembly (1).
  19. Remove the cable shift cam assembly (3).

  21. Remove the shift actuator shaft.

  23. Remove the 2 actuator bushings.

  25. Remove the 3 oval head screws (2) from the shift lever gate (3).
  26. Remove the shift lever gate (3) from the gear shift lever assembly support bracket (1).
