Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the retainers into the alignment slots in the rear compartment lid.
  2. Install the high-mounted stop lamp harness and grommet to the rear compartment lid.
  3. Use the J 25070  to apply heat to the rear spoiler mounting points.

    Apply heat 152 mm (6 in) from the surface using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.

  4. Position forward studs of the rear spoiler into the clearance holes of the rear compartment lid.
    IMPORTANT: Do not touch the adhesive backing.
  5. Peel the adhesive backing from the mounting surfaces of the rear end spoiler.
  6. Apply even pressure to the rear spoiler to allow for proper adhesion to the rear compartment lid.

  7. Install the rear spoiler stud to rear compartment lid retainers.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Install the rear spoiler stud to rear compartment lid nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear spoiler stud to rear compartment lid nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  9. Connect the high mounted stop lamp electrical connector to rear compartment lid harness.
  10. Close the rear compartment.
