Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment convenience net and retainers. Refer to Compartment Convenience Net Replacement - Rear .
  3. Remove the On-Star plastic cover.

  4. Remove the nuts from the module bracket.
  5. Move the module out to access the connectors.
  6. Disconnect the cellular antenna cable from the communication interface module by pulling outward on the square plastic housing.
  7. Disconnect the GPS antenna cable from the module by pulling outward on the circular metal sleeve.
  8. Disconnect the two electrical connectors from the module.
  9. Remove the module and the bracket from the rear compartment.

  10. Remove the rear compartment mat from the rear compartment.

  11. Remove the spare tire cover from the rear compartment.
  12. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Compartment Sill Plate Replacement - Rear .
  13. Remove the trim panel from the lid lock striker.

  14. If equipped with rear split folding seats, remove the rear seat back. Refer to SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - REAR (NON-FOLDING) or SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACEMENT - REAR (FOLDING) in Seats.
  15. Fold the both sides of the rear compartment trim panel toward the center of the rear compartment.
  16. Fold the rear of the rear compartment trim panel toward the center of the rear compartment.
  17. Remove the left and right side of the rear compartment trim panel from the vehicle.
