Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the rear compartment lid black rubber bumpers.
  2. With an assistant, position the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment lid hinges.
  3. Position the rear compartment lid hinge to the alignment marks on the rear compartment lid.
  4. Install the rear compartment lid hinge to rear compartment lid bolts.

    Do not torque the nuts until after the lid has been aligned.

  5. Install the wiring harness. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid 
  6. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid 
  7. Install the lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid 
  8. Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear .
  9. Remove the protective coverings from the adjacent body panels.
  10. Adjust the rear compartment lid if required. Using an Allen wrench, adjust the height adjustment bumper at front of the hinge.
  11. Use an Allen wrench to adjust the height adjustment bumper at the front of the rear compartment lid hinges if necessary.
  12. Adjust the rear compartment lid alignment for uniform fit if necessary.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  13. Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge to rear compartment lid bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge to rear compartment lid bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  14. Close the rear compartment.
